Welcome to Fernain.com. A site still under construction... please bear with me.
It feels a little old-school to have a personal site again. The last time I did this was the 90s. But the reason I’m back is simple:
Ownership.
Not just of content — of systems. Of infrastructure. Of the stack itself.
Platforms shift. Algorithms throttle. Terms change quietly.
But a system you build and control? That compounds.
This site runs on Tooty — my own CMS.
I built it because I wanted control over how publishing works. No mystery plugins. No fragile dependencies. Just a system I understand end to end.
Here, I can write long without trimming ideas down for a feed.
I can publish without asking permission.
I can experiment without worrying about whether it “performs.”
If I want membership features, I’ll build them.
If I want a newsletter pipeline, I’ll wire it.
If a project needs its own ecosystem, it gets one.
This is digital real estate. And like any real estate worth holding, it grows over time.
I’ll use this space to think in public — about AI governance, platform architecture, local-first systems, durable software, and whatever else I’m building or breaking at the moment.
If that’s your kind of thing, stick around.
(Yes — subscriptions are coming. I ship the platform before the feature.)
Until next time — stay bright, stay diligent, and stay learning.
